Amazing Animals isn’t your typical sanctuary. This animal lover’s destination in St. Cloud has more than 100 exotic animals on site and offers preserve tours by appointment only—meaning you and your group are the only public on site for the hour and a half you’ll be viewing and interacting with the animals.

The animals you rub elbows with may vary due to which are feeling up to it that day, but hands-on encounters usually include interactions with sloths, capybaras, tortoises and barnyard animals such as goats, donkeys, pigs and alpacas. Get ready for cuteness quotient overload, and don’t forget your camera!

In addition to the interactive encounters, you’ll also get to see wild animals up close as you tour the facility with a guide, who is armed with great stories and knowledge of the animals. Amazing Animals’ goal is to be the spark that ignites the next generation to protect wildlife and wild places, and to make a positive impact on the world. They believe that animals are amazing and should be celebrated and protected. Founded in 2009, the nonprofit’s first mission was to raise money to care for the reptiles its founder was rescuing. As their animal family grew, so did the mission, and Amazing Animals moved to a 2.5-acre facility in St. Cloud to create a preserve for exotic animals in need.

Sharing those animals’ stories spurred the team at Amazing Animals to reach beyond the preserve; they also travel to off-site locations such as schools, nursing homes, daycares and birthday parties to educate the public about the importance of protecting wildlife and their  natural habitats. amazinganimalsinc.org
