2024 Orlando’s Best Pet Contest Winners
It was a purr-fect competition between some of Orlando's best pets, as submitted by their owners!
THANK YOU Central Florida, for submitting your amazing, adorable and just plain sweet pet photos. We are inspired by their stories and enchanted by their photos. It was neck-to-neck (or nose-to-beak), so we have two winners this year, Armando and Moriah. And our runners-up are just as beautiful.
The Winners
Armando
Armando is a 2-year-old, long-haired, shaded cream dachshund. He loves Zoomies and bully sticks. He is a needy boy, says his owner, Sharon, who must be next to you at all times. His eyes melt your heart, as you can see in the picture. Armando has a 4-year-old brother named Enzo, who he loves to chase and play with. He is very boisterous, with a deep bark that makes you think he’s a Doberman instead of a 12-pound dog. “He and his brother fill our world with love and affection,” says Sharon.
Moriah
Moriah (also known as “The Cutest Birdy”) is a Lutino cockatiel. According to her owner, Kelsey, she was found during a storm, when Kelsey’s mother-in-law heard a bird call and discovered her under the car with an injured wing. Kelsey is not sure of Moriah’s exact age, but Moriah has been with her family for 18 years. “She was very friendly and sweet from the start, never biting us except for gentle nibbles,” says Kelsey. Although the family now has several cockatiels, Moriah has always preferred the company of humans. “She likes to perch on our heads and preen our hair,” says Kelsey.
