ABOUT THE DOCTOR

Dr. Cabrera is an adult neurologist who is board-certified by the American Academy of Neurology and Psychiatry. She has been devoted to the neurological field for over 25 years, with extensive experience as a clinician and a clinical investigator. Dr. Cabrera grew up in Cuba, where she completed her medical school and neurology residency for the first time at the National Institute of Neurology in Havana. After completing her neurology residency training at Duke University, she moved to Orlando, where she has practiced since 2007. Dr. Cabrera is an active member of the American Academy of Neurology (AAN) and the Florida Society of Neurology. She is affiliated with the AdventHealth System in Orlando. She is passionate about teaching neurology and has been an Assistant Professor at
St. Matthew’s University School of Medicine since 2009, in addition to teaching medical students from the University of Central Florida since 2014. The scope of her practice includes Multiple Sclerosis, Myasthenia Gravis, peripheral neuropathy and other neuromuscular disorders, dementia, Parkinson’s disease, epilepsy, cerebrovascular diseases, and headaches. The office uses on-site state-of-the-art diagnostic technology to perform electroencephalography (with a video monitoring system),
electromyography and nerve conduction studies, evoked potentials, and autonomic nervous system studies. They also conduct on-site skin biopsies for nerve density testing and diagnosing Parkinson’s disease and other synucleinopathies.
