Cant Miss Haunted Houses 2

# 1: A Petrified Forest | ALTAMONTE SPRINGS

Select Nights in October & November

A Petrified Forest has become a Halloween staple in Central Florida. Rebuilt every year on a lot in Altamonte Springs on 436, in between what was once Uncle Jone’s Bar-B-Que and is now a WaWa and an old Thomasville furniture store. What started over a decade ago with one house has grown into several haunted trails, a laser tag experience, food trucks, local bands and more. The trails are long, heavily themed, and very creative. They also allow a great deal of space between groups, so scares aren’t ruined by the group in front of you. In past years, guests have seen sea-themed trails, haunted house themed rooms and sets, the infamous haunted school bus, and even a bayou. The team at A Petrified Forest tries to top their haunts each season (in previous years, guests were placed in standing coffins and wheeled into one house). This is an intense experience, and not recommended for those under 13. This year’s haunt begins October 4.

Tickets for all 2024 trails are $36.68 per person! | apetrifiedforest.com

# 2: Face The Fear House | WINTER SPRINGS

October 18, 19, 25 & 26

Face the Fear doesn’t have the blood and gore you’d expect from a haunted house, so for those looking for more of a thriller-type experience over a gory one, this haunt is for you. In lieu of the typical haunted house décor, costumes, and gore, Face the Fear provides guests with an intriguing backstory and plot. The 2024 theme is Tech-Wood Terror! Face The Fear provided a little backstory to this haunt as well.

“Hidden in plain sight lies the remains of an abandoned research facility, known as the Tech-Wood Institute. This institute was once at the forefront of AI development and nature integration. If you have never heard of that, well – that is because it has been banned and as a result, this type of research remains relatively unknown. Legend has it that the scientists were experimenting with combining artificial intelligence and genetic engineering to create a new form of life. As you might imagine, this research was widely criticized and discounted as junk science. One stormy night, an experiment went terribly wrong, leading to the closure of the facility. Since then, mysterious occurrences and sightings of an unknown creatures have been reported in the surrounding woods. A 4 night exclusive agreement has been reached with the official State of Florida Artificial Intelligence Consortium and permission to offer limited tours has been made available to guests of Face the Fear.
