We sat down with the team at Onx homes recently to answer some of your biggest questions.

Could you share more about Onx’s mission and any awards or recognitions the company has received?

Onx was founded in 2021 with the mission of accelerating a new era of homes and neighborhoods. It brought together a team with extensive experience in technology, real estate, construction and finance, focusing on tech-first construction solutions for resilient homes and communities.

As a result of our dedication, Onx Homes has gained recognition for our commitment to housing innovation, reaching the finalist stage for the 2024 Ivory Prize for Housing Affordability, one of the longest-standing and most prestigious awards of its kind in the United States. Onx also won the 2024 Architecture and Construction RED Award for Construction Technology Firm of the Year, recognizing the company’s outstanding contributions to the construction industry through its cutting-edge technology that produces sustainable, resilient homes at scale and speed.

Can you explain the benefits and features of the X+ Construction™ standard and how it enhances the durability and safety of your homes?

Onx Homes, built using the company’s proprietary X+ Construction methodology, are almost exclusively made of concrete. Therefore, these homes are far more resilient to fire and water damage than stick-built homes. Furthermore, and this is so critical in Florida, they are capable of withstanding Cat 5, 175+ mph wind loads.

These homes feature monolithic concrete foundations, which far surpass traditional foundations in terms of compressive flexural strength. Staircases are built with prestressed beam concrete reinforcement and deliver more than 8,000 psi in strength. And hurricane-impact windows come with the base price.

What unique amenities does this community offer to enhance residents’ quality of life?

All our communities are designed to enhance the quality of life of our residents. We utilize design principles that foster interaction and community building through neighborhood layout plans and shared spaces like plazas, parks, clubhouses and recreational areas. These amenities are thoughtfully integrated to promote a healthy, active and socially connected lifestyle for everyone in the community. Everything we do is centered on creating vibrant and inspiring living experiences through meticulous engineering and design that represents and celebrates the culture around us.

Can you provide details on the types of homes available, including floor plans, sizes and customizable options?

The On Villa Pass community offers 200 single-family homes, ranging in size from 2442 to 2824 square feet and with three to four bedrooms. Each home includes modern features such as open kitchens, energy-efficient appliances, designer marble finish tile flooring, high ceilings, spacious backyards and access to scenic nature trails. Our communities showcase cutting-edge design elements that redefine modern living spaces. The sleek architectural details and open floor plans create a sense of spaciousness. Integrating innovative design elements ensures efficiency and style, with customization options allowing homeowners to tailor their living spaces according to their preferences.

Onx Homes

The On Villa Pass homes, like all Onx homes, are built with energy efficiency and the good of the environment as paramount concerns.

Whether it’s including an EV charger in every home, using AI in its HVAC system for energy optimization, partnering with sustainability product leaders for materials, or using tech-set precision to eliminate building waste—a huge environmental issue with traditional building methods. Onx is continually seeking out new ways to increase energy efficiency and limit environmental impacts.

As much a tech company as a homebuilder, Onx operates within a tech industry ethos of continual improvement, which extends to its efforts in energy efficiency and environmentally friendly initiatives. These continuous efforts extend to Onx’s goals of achieving 100% Leed Certified Homes by 2025, using 80% recyclable material by 2028, and making its homes carbon neutral by 2030.

For example, Onx partners with sustainability leader Biomason—which uses biotech to create low-carbon emissions biocement, a planet-friendly alternative to traditional cement—and Hempitecture, which sustainably produces high-performance insulation from plant-based materials that sequester carbon dioxide. Onx sandwich-panel thermal insulation provides higher performance than most traditional home insulations.

What financing options are available for potential home buyers, and are there any special incentives or discounts currently being offered?

For a limited time, Onx also offers a launch promotion of a 5.5% fixed-rate mortgage and a $16,400 closing costs credit.

Furthermore, our fully integrated team approach to homebuilding, where we are the developer, the designer and the constructor, while going directly to primary sources for materials, allows us to save on building costs while scaling up to build entire neighborhoods and passing that value on to homebuyers.

As 90% concrete structures built to last 100+ years, these durable, low-maintenance, hurricane and fire-resistant homes result in significant insurance and maintenance cost savings throughout the life of these homes.

Homeowners also receive another 20% in value, as base prices include elegant well-appointed kitchens with durable quartz countertops, luxurious and spacious bathrooms featuring floor-to-ceiling porcelain tile and glass shower panels, a high-quality home automation system, premium marble-finish tile flooring and an EV charger.

What are the available facade and interior customization options for potential buyers to create their dream living space at Onx Homes?

At Onx Homes, we believe the homeowner should have the right to personalize their dream living space. All our homes come with porcelain tiles, EV charger, hurricane impact windows, LED lights and quartz countertops, providing durability and an elevated aesthetic. These modern features incorporated into our homes are further attributes  setting us apart in the real estate market. As we deliver sustainable and resilient homes throughout Florida, On Villa Pass continues to raise the standard in construction while satisfying the immediate need for high-quality housing.

What specific energy-efficient appliances and features are included in each home, and how do they contribute to reducing utility costs?

Because Onx homes are built with factory precision using its proprietary X+ Construction methodology, these homes are uniquely air-tight. The combined use of envelope insulation, energy-efficient materials, precise, tech-driven design and a proprietary HVAC system results in up to 40% in energy savings, which translates into wins for the homeowner and the environment.
