Holiday Shopping: Deck the Halls
The holiday season is upon us, and these five Central Florida shops are ready to get you in the spirit.
St. Nick’s Holiday Shoppe
Trees of every type fill this Christmas pop-up shop located in College Park, from artificial white firs dusted with “snow” to trees bedecked in themes including underwater seascapes, candy canes, and snowmen. Add intricately designed wreaths, mantel-worthy candles, and rolls of festive ribbon, and there’s enough décor to turn any home into a holiday showcase. St. Nick’s also offers an “Elves Decorating Service” if you’d rather leave the tree-trimming to, well, the elves. Plus, Santa makes two store appearances to ensure those on the naughty and nice list get his full attention. 2322 Edgewater Drive, Orlando. 407-399-7033. Search St. Nick’s Holiday Shoppe on Facebook.
A Christmas to Remember
The experience at A Christmas to Remember is tradition mixed with charm. Located in The Florida Mall, this shop offers those looking to turn their home into a winter wonderland everything from the Elf On A Shelf to shimmering, golden snowflakes, ornaments adorned with farm animal faces, over-the-top snow globes, and candy-covered wreaths. For something completely different, it also carries Old World Christmas ornaments with a line that includes a slice of pizza, a mug of hot cocoa, a science beaker, and a sea otter floating on its back. Marge’s Specialties
Since it opened in 1976, Marge’s Specialties has been the expert on all things holiday. The family owned shop keeps its doors open year-round and proudly boasts the title as the largest Christmas store in Florida by the Orlando Sentinel. With all that space, Marge’s can cover every decorating need. Favorite brands include Mark Roberts, Byers Choice, and Aromatique Brighton Christmas ornaments. For shoppers who need a little extra help, Marge’s custom decorating services can turn your living space into something that can rival any A-lister’s home. 4809 N. Orange Blossom Trail, Orlando. 407-298-2620. marges.com
Disney’s Days of Christmas
It doesn’t get more magical than adding some Disney touches to the holidays. At Disney’s Days of Christmas, located in Disney Springs, there’s a bounty of ornaments from which to choose, both with and without the Mouse, as well as oversized stockings and trees that aren’t just on the floor—they hang from the ceiling, too. And since it is Disney, there's no shortage of Mickey Mouse items including personalized Christmas bulbs, bells, wreaths, stuffed animals, and ornaments featuring almost every Disney character. Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe
Universal may have its fair share of attractions, but the Port of Entry Christmas Shoppe is a popular stopping point for holiday lovers, no matter what time of year. Some guests love it for the seasonal scents in the air, while others come for the festive ornaments featuring jolly Santas, herds of reindeer, snowmen of all sizes, and, of course, the Grinch. And the shop’s package pickup and delivery service makes shopping for the holidays even easier. Islands of Adventure, Universal Orlando Resort, Orlando. universalorlando.com
