10 Things You Need to Know About Tiana’s Bayou Adventure
We had a chance to check out the newest ride at Walt Disney World. Here are 10 fun facts about the ride.
1) A Sequel to “The Princess and the Frog”
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure continues the story after the events of “The Princess and the Frog.” You’ll discover how Tiana’s life has evolved following her success with Tiana’s Palace, the restaurant she worked tirelessly to establish.
2) Tiana’s Foods
Expanding her entrepreneurial journey, Tiana bought an old salt mine and the surrounding land to create Tiana’s Foods. This vibrant space features art from local artists and extensive gardens of vegetables, herbs, and spices used in her recipes.
3) Immersive Queue Experience
The attraction queue is rich with details. You’ll smell the sweet scent of beignets, see newspaper clippings about Tiana’s journey, and find photos of her friends and family. You can even discover Tiana’s great grandmother’s original gumbo recipe!
4) Mardi Gras Party Adventure
At Tiana’s Bayou Adventure, you’re invited to celebrate Mardi Gras with Tiana’s community. When Louis and Naveen forget to book a band, you step in to help find the “missing ingredient” – a band to play at the party! Your search takes you to exciting places, including a moment where Mama Odie shrinks you to the size of a frog to enjoy amphibian musicians.
5) Advanced Audio-Animatronics
The attraction features some of the most advanced Audio-Animatronic figures ever seen, showcasing both new and familiar characters like Princess Tiana, Mama Odie, Louis, Naveen, and three bands of musical critters.
6) New Characters and Music
Meet all-new Disney characters – the critters! These Audio-Animatronic figures play instruments crafted from natural materials and found objects in the bayou. Enjoy music genres popular in New Orleans, such as Zydeco, Rara, and Afro-Cuban, performed by raccoons, rabbits, otters, bears, foxes, frogs, and more.
7) Star-Studded Collaboration
Top talent from various fields contributed to the attraction. Voice actors from the film, including Anika Noni Rose (Princess Tiana), Michael-Leon Wooley (Louis), and Jenifer Lewis (Mama Odie), reprise their roles. Terence Blanchard, a contributor to the original soundtrack, created new music, and award-winning musician PJ Morton wrote and performed the finale song, “Special Spice,” with Anika Noni Rose. Artisans from New Orleans, such as Sharika Mahdi, Malaika Favorite, and Darryl Reeves, added their artistic touch.
8) Virtual Queue System
Tiana’s Bayou Adventure uses a virtual queue system. You can request to join the queue through the My Disney Experience app at 7 a.m. or 1 p.m. Although a standby queue won’t be available initially, it is expected to open soon after the attraction’s debut.
