Tomorrow has arrived at Dr. Phillips Center
AdventHealth Broadway in Orlando and Dr. Phillips Center Present Annie October 24-29th
The sun is out for the new season of AdventHealth Broadway Series at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts where Annie takes the stage October 24-29. For over 45 years, Annie has reminded generations of theatergoers that sunshine is always right around the corner and now the best-loved musical of all time has returned to Orlando in a new production.
The musical is more relevant than ever today as it truly is a celebration of family, optimism and the American spirit and remains the ultimate cure for all of life’s hard knocks.
Holding onto hope when times are tough can take an awful lot of determination, and sometimes, an awful lot of determination comes in a surprisingly small package. Taking on the title role of Annie is Rainier (Rainey) Trevino who dazzles the audience alongside her beloved furry companion Sandy. Sandy’s real life story is poignantly similar to Annie’s; the show-stealing pup played by Georgie is an orphan himself who was rescued in 2022, just hours from being left behind at a kill shelter. The delightful duo is joined by a talented and charming cast of children and a seasoned group of pros who bring the heartwarming tale to life.
Annie officially kicks off the lineup for the 10th Broadway in Orlando season at the Dr. Phillips Center for the Performing Arts. Annie is one not to miss, directed by Jenn Thompson and features the iconic book and score, written by Tony Award®-winners Thomas Meehan, Charles Strouse and Martin Charnin. The dynamic 9-show lineup in Walt Disney Theater features the return of three blockbuster musicals Annie, Disney’s Aladdin and Les Misérables, as well as the Broadway in Orlando premieres of six new shows including Funny Girl, Moulin Rouge! The Musical, Jagged Little Pill, Mrs. Doubtfire, the new adaptation of Peter Pan and the brand new Clue–the latter five of which are debuting their first national tours.
Purchase your tickets now for Annie and the 23-24 Season, it’s sure to be a wonderful season of music, laughter and drama!
