Ekta Desai is a pivotal figure at Schenkel Shultz, an award-winning architecture and interior design studio headquartered in Orlando, Florida. She is spearheading a significant evolution within the firm as it celebrates its 40th anniversary. Since joining as Design Lead in 2018, her mission has been to honor its rich history while elevating project strategies. Bringing a decade of experience from both New York City and Mexico City, her fresh perspective and creativity has played a pivotal role in driving portfolio diversification.

Under Ekta’s leadership, Schenkel Shultz has embraced a more collaborative and inclusive design methodology, leading to transformative projects like the new offices for the Orlando Economic Partnership and the Edyth Bush Charitable Foundation, along with the Porter Family Center for Innovation at Lake Highland Preparatory School. This emphasis on design excellence has influenced the firm’s talent acquisition strategy, aimed at attracting individuals who share Ekta’s passion for innovative ideas.

Beyond her contributions to the firm, Ekta is actively involved in the Central Florida community, serving on the Orlando Ballet Board of Directors and volunteering for events like the Winter Park Sidewalk Arts Festival.
