The origins of the holiday stem from the religious ceremony honoring the patron saint, St. Patrick. As the saying goes, if you’re lucky enough to be Irish, then you’re lucky enough. On St. Patrick’s Day, we’re all Irish and aren’t we lucky that for a hot and humid point on the map, Orlando is blessed with an abundance of Irish pubs.

To assist in your festive observations, Orlando magazine brings you a few of the area’s notable Irish pubs and restaurants that are celebrating St. Patrick’s Day. Sláinte!

Are you looking for a top hooley? Head to Raglan Road Irish Pub and Restaurant at Disney Springs for its Mighty St. Patrick’s Day Fest, happening March 16-19, and indulge in Ireland’s most popular exports: Food, dancing, laughter and strong beverages. Raglan Road is known for featuring top Irish musicians year-round and entertainers are flown in specifically for St. Paddy’s Day. The block party is also a great opportunity to enjoy the Raglan Road Irish Dancers, all of whom have experience touring with “Riverdance” or “Lord of the Dance.”

All ages are welcome throughout the weekend celebration. On Friday, guests 18 and up pay a cover charge for the St. Patrick’s Day block party.

If Universal CityWalk is more your vibe, visit the Orlando outpost of New Orleans piano bar Pat O’Brien’s for a St. Paddy’s Day party with a Cajun flavor.

It’s a craic, it’s free and runs from 4 p.m. until 1 a.m. Being a younger sibling of Pat O’Brien’s, which has been “having fun since 1933,” the party should be good. When the DJs aren’t spinning, join in the wild sing-alongs around Pat’s famous dueling pianos.

Take a break and indulge in French Quarter fare as well as beverages and dishes made specially for St. Patrick’s Day. Reservations are strongly encouraged.

The celebrations start at noon at Claddagh Cottage Pub in Orlando’s Hourglass District. Snag a table indoors or on the patio and enjoy live music from 1 p.m. until late. There is no cover charge and your little mites are welcome.

Claddagh’s kitchen serves traditional Irish favorites like corned beef and cabbage, cottage pie, sausage rolls, and potato leek soup. And don’t worry if you can’t make it on St. Patrick’s Day—Claddagh keeps the celebration going on Saturday, starting at 4 p.m.

Head over to I-Drive’s true Irish-owned pub for an authentic St. Patrick’s Day experience. From 11:30 a.m. to closing, The Lucky Leprechaun will be more than a wee bit Irish with bagpipers, bands and dance troupes. The night will be capped with a special performance by the Irish Echoes dancers from Central Florida Irish Dance, who will host an interactive cèilidh of traditional Irish singing, dancing and storytelling.

The Leprechauns will be serving up corned beef and cabbage, Irish stew and fish and chips. There’s no cover charge to enjoy all the fun, and the little ones are invited. The pub promises fun freebies and special appearances by the Guinness and Budweiser beer promo ladies. You might want to arrive early, as the pub is expecting a large crowd.
