Ted Maines, an Orlando Icon, Designer, Philanthropist and Friend

In memory, one year later.

Ted Maines

Last year Orlando lost a friend and an icon, Ted Maines, to an aggressive form of cancer. Born in Irvington, New Jersey, he spent his teenage years in New York, cultivating a love for art and design. Maines (pictured above sitting next to husband Jeffrey Miller) relocated to Central Florida at 28, establishing his own interior design firm in 2010. His firm garnered acclaim, receiving numerous awards including the 2018 Southeast Building Conference Silver Aurora Award for Best Remodel or Renovation and multiple Reader’s Choice awards. He was actively involved in the community, serving on various boards such as the Historic Preservation Board of Orlando, The Creative City Project, Orlando Ballet, and the Orlando Police Foundation.
