Congressman Maxwell Frost, representing Orlando, has made significant efforts to engage and mobilize young voters, particularly within the Gen Z demographic. Congressman Maxwell Frost is currently serving his first term in Congress as the Representative of the 10th district of Florida. District 10 is part of Orange County, and covers most of its western portion. It is situated along the Interstate 4 corridor. It includes most of the western half of Orlando. The first member of Generation Z to be elected to Congress, Frost is proud to represent the people of Central Florida (FL-10) in the United States House of Representatives.

A UNIQUE APPROACH

His approach includes unique initiatives like “Democracy Summer,” a program that employs young individuals aged 17 to 22 as organizing fellows. These fellows are involved in voter registration, community engagement and supporting other candidates. This initiative demonstrates Frost’s commitment to not only political campaigning but also to broader community organizing and empowerment. His strategy reflects an understanding of the need to actively involve young voters in the political process, addressing the challenges faced by the Democratic Party in energizing this demographic.

SUPPORTING THE BLACK COMMUNITY

In terms of his impact on the Black community and recent legislative efforts, Congressman Frost has been involved in various projects and initiatives. He has worked closely with local partners in Central Florida to secure funding for important community projects. These include constructing affordable housing, improving public transportation infrastructure and supporting educational and community resources. For example, he has been instrumental in securing funding for the construction of small houses for low-income individuals, the development of a multicultural senior center, and improvements in public transportation. Additionally, his efforts have extended to securing financial support for projects aimed at providing affordable housing and innovative living solutions in communities like Eatonville, reflecting his commitment to addressing housing issues in his district.

THE WORK CONTINUES

It is also notable that Frost has been involved in securing significant funding for educational initiatives, including support for civics engagement programs and scholarships for Jewish Day Schools, highlighting his focus on educational improvements and community safety. “This year I had the opportunity to submit requests to fund 15 local community projects to better the lives of Central Floridians, and I’m excited to let you know that we’re one step closer to securing $11.3M for transformative changes that will address housing, infrastructure, transportation, support for our seniors, and more” notes Frost.

Congressman Frost’s work in Orlando and Central Florida reflects a multifaceted approach to addressing key issues such as voter engagement among young people, community development, education and housing, demonstrating his commitment to these areas and their impact on his constituents.
