Wanderful CEO Embolds Female Travel
Wander Woman is on newsstands everywhere books are sold.
More women are traveling alone than ever before. A global community of female travelers, Wanderful’s goal is to connect and inspire women by encouraging them to be fearless, and to embrace new perspectives on what travel can look like.
It is the brainchild of founder and CEO Beth Santos, regularly recognized as in the travel industry—she was named Godmother of the Azamara Onward cruise ship in 2022 and strives to amplify underrepresented voices through her work as a speaker, industry consultant and small business coach.
Her first book, Wander Woman: How to Reclaim Your Space, Find Your Voice, and Travel the World, Solo is now on newsstands everywhere.
“We have so many expectations about what travel should look like, and who can do it,” says Santos. “But so much of it isn’t true and it does us a disservice. Travel consists of three things: 1) challenging your preconceptions, 2) trying something new, and 3) getting uncomfortable. If you think about travel in this way, you realize that travel opportunities are everywhere. It’s not about how far you go or how many passport stamps you acquire (though they’re certainly fun to get). It’s about how willing you are to open yourself up to the world around you, and most especially parts of the world (people, places, stories, experiences) you may have overlooked before. “
“Being a real Wander Woman is about being a citizen of the world, about knowingly challenging ourselves to think and dig deeper, and to travel with our eyes wide open to our social and environmental impact. And the best part is, we can do that thousands of miles away or just down the street,” she adds.
