Health: Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation

No one ever said you can’t have fun while being good.

Does the prospect of winning a meticulously restored 1974 Plymouth Hemi Duster get those philanthropic juices flowing? How about an elegant evening at an Indialantic chateau?

They aren’t rhetorical questions; they are two fundraisers that keep the doors open at the Brevard Alzheimer’s Foundation. The Melbourne nonprofit was founded in 1995 to provide care and support to families with Alzheimer’s patients and serves about six thousand individuals a year.

Casino Royale on the Indian River is March 25, with casino-style gaming, cirque-style entertainment, gourmet food and an open bar, says foundation Executive Director Tim Timmermann Jr.

“One of our board members, Dr. Ross Clevens and his wife, Tara, have been personally affected by the disease and they very graciously open their home on the Indian River to the foundation,” Timmermann says.

The ALZBBQ car raffle will be held May 6 at the American Muscle Car Museum in Melbourne. You need not be present to win, and we mean it. The 2021 winner was from Melbourne and took home a sweet 1970 Plymouth ‘Cuda. That was Melbourne, Australia.
