Health: Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center

If you ask the loved ones of an Alzheimer’s patient what they need most from an organization, they will likely say education and support.

For more than 35 years, the Alzheimer’s & Dementia Resource Center in Winter Park has been that source of strength for thousands of our neighbors, family and friends.

ADRC focuses on the caregivers and serves only Central Florida. The group, led by Executive Director Kerrin Kuhn, empowers caregivers and helps them cope with the challenges of life with a dementia patient.

The nonprofit offers peer-support groups, care-coaching sessions, educational programs and wellness events. Most services are free of charge.

For families who want to contribute to research that seeks a cure for dementia, the ADRC provides the pathway to donate their loved one’s brain to the Florida Brain Bank.

It is a comforting way, the ADRC says, for clients to know that their loved one has made a significant contribution in the fight against Alzheimer’s disease.
